Emily Murphy

Emily Murphy is a contentious character in our history.


Cerrtainly she was force to be reckoned with on the issue of extending the vote and equal political power to women.


A large article in the Saturday News of Dec. 19, 1908, "The Parliamentary enfranchisement of women", shows her principled stand in favour of equal suffrage.

The many attempts of John Stuart Mills to extend voting to British women is also enumerated.
