Edmonton teacher Felicia Graham went missing in November 1918 during the 1918 flu epidemic
last seen crossing High Level Bridge on way to Southside Hospital to volunteer in the care of the many made ill by the Spanish flu
When I wrote my book Old Strathcona Edmonton's Southside Roots, I did not know the outcome.
But it turns out the following spring her body was found downstream near Vermilion.
She was last seen standing on the High Level Bridge. Apparently she went into the river shortly thereafter.
Whether she jumped, was pushed or fell off the bridge is not clear.
The coroner's inquest on her body decided on suicide.
