The USGS earthquake watch website tonight shows that a place southeast of Loyalty Islands, north of New Zealand, has had more than 40 - yes, 40 - earthquakes today Feb. 10, 2021.
Strongest was 7.7, the weakest was 5.1. The last appears to have happened an hour ago so perhaps the cycle has stopped.
Earthquakes also in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, two in Nevada and one in Idaho.
A few in Alaska but that is normal. And 40 or so elsewhere. These are normal for a day on Earth, but 40 in one place - as happened near Loyalty Islands - is quite odd from what I have seen on the website in the past.
