Ottawa, many cities have many more city councillors than Edmonton

Edmonton could have more councillors. Many cities have more than our few 12 plus mayor.

Calgary has 14 plus mayor.

Winnipeg has 18 plus mayor.

Ottawa has 22 councilors and a mayor. It has about the same population and geographic area as Edmonton.

Manchester, England city council is composed of 96 councillors, three for each of the 32 electoral wards of Manchester.

In Zürich, there are 125 seats on the local council for a city only half the size of Edmonton. About 1200 people ran in the last election. They came from all walks of life and if elected they serve as citizen legislators as well as working their regular jobs. That city is consistently ranked among the best places to live.
