Roper and William Irvine  Personal Message 1942. (Roper's candidate message for the 1942 Edmonton provincial by-election. It contains the "CCF-Labor" platform and a biography of Roper by Irvine). (Weinrich 2476)

As a CCF candidate, Roper won the by-election. His success helped cause Aberhart and the SC leadership to dislike PR, apparently. Roper was re-elected in 1944, 1948 and 1952. After PR was dropped in Edmonton in 1956, no CCF or NDP MLA was elected in Edmonton until 1982.

29 broadcasts on "Post-war Reconstruction" in which he laid out a Social Credit plan to renew Canada after the war with freer access to money than had been the case during the hard times of the Depression. Transcriptions of these broadcasts were published as booklets.
