For old movies from 1940 and 50s, check out the Silver Screen TV channel.

As well, for filler between movies it shows old National Film Board shorts.

I have seen one on Sable Island, one on a poverty-stricken family in Toronto, and many more.

I was surprised when an interview with an Arctic sea captain resulted in not an exciting account of life on the great ice shelf of the Far North, but instead a mini-lecture in how to use a sextant. He was definitely a no-nonsense capable man indeed.

As well, for old-style entertainment, check out when the Silver Screen parts with its visual display almost altogether and broadcasts old-time radio shows. showing only still photos of people performing radio shows to microphones.

it is true to say now on June 15 that BC is an hour behind us in Alberta (excepting pars of BC that run on Alberta time) but is Alberta an hour earlier or an hour later than the majority of BC? well..
